I am currently gathering information about the history of the Durable Toy and Novelty Company. My goal is to be able to provide a new reference book/DVD for other collectors with information about each known style and color of bank that exists and the historical information about the company.

I am particularly interested in finding out more information about the people who were involved with the Durable Toy and Novelty Company.

The company was founded in Cleveland, OH in 1907 by Arthur Jacobs, George Beresford, FG Ball, CC Owens and FH Shelboin. It was sold to H.H. Payson in 1926 and Ms. Ann Payson was President of the company in the 1950’s.

If any person or any family member has knowledge of these or any other people involved with Durable Toy and Novelty Company and would like to share that information with me I would like to hear from you.

I am also interested in finding any pictures of the factories or personnel of the company and any original advertisements.
